Hello,

I have just joined this tribe and thought I should introduce myself....

My interest in Jewish Philosophy has been steadily growing for the past 4 or so years. I was raised jewish - going to the synagogue for high holidays, keeping kosher, bat mitzvah.
I have practiced quite a bit with buddhism, particularly Vipassana. I have just come back from ten months in India where i was living and working at a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery.
I just finished reading the Jew in the Lotus and am currently reading Minyan by Rabbi Rami Shapiro.

I guess I joined this tribe looking for ideas and practices that challenge me from within a jewish context....words that resonate and universal principles with a jewish flavour...checking out the roots and nourishing them so that the tree can continue to grow strong...

peace
